SAFE Home Study Program

SAFE (Structured Analysis Family Evaluation) Home Study Program is a program to screen and approve stable, healthy families to foster, adopt, provide kinship care, or become private guardians to vulnerable children and youth in Southeast Alberta. The SAFE Home Study is a standardized home study methodology that Children's Services and McMan use to evaluate prospective foster, adoptive, kinship and private guardianship families. SAFE guides Home Study Practitioners in performing a thorough, structured and uniform evaluation of individuals or families. All referrals for individuals or families to be part of this program come from the Placement Resource Unit at Children's Services in Medicine Hat or Lethbridge.
