Home Study Report Services uses the Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) tool to assess and recommend suitability of adults who apply to be foster parents, adoptive parents, kinship care providers, or private guardians.
Assessing Applicants for Suitability
Ages 18+
The program assesses adults 18+ seeking to provide temporary or permanent care to children.
Fees
Fees vary upon complexity of services required. Contact McMan South for more information.
Getting to Know Applicants
We learn about each applicant to explore their strengths and supports required to provide care for the child(ren) in need.
Referral Required
Referrals typically come from Children’s Services, however McMan is available for self-directed applications for someone seeking guardianship of a child on their own.
What to Expect
SAFE is a structured, evidence-based methodology used to get to know applicants and their families. The Home Study Report Practitioner will speak with applicants, others living in the home, and their personal networks about their life experiences. Extensive personal information is gathered through various sources and is used to complete the final home study report which aids those making the approval decision.
